Forestry mulching and underbrush removal
A mulching head grinds standing brush and small timber into chips right where it stands. Nothing gets piled, nothing gets burned and nothing gets trucked away — which is why it is often the cheapest way to reclaim overgrown acreage.
The chip layer left behind suppresses regrowth, holds the soil against erosion and breaks down into the ground over a season. It is the right tool for trails, pasture reclamation, property lines and hunting land.

Forestry Mulching questions
Is forestry mulching cheaper than traditional land clearing?
For brush and small timber, almost always — you are not paying for excavation, hauling or dump fees. Mulching runs roughly $1,200 to $3,000 per acre. But it leaves the root systems in the ground, so if you are building on the lot you still need conventional clearing and grubbing.
Will the brush grow back?
The chip layer suppresses regrowth for a season or two. Anything with an intact root system — privet, briars, sweetgum — will eventually push back through. For permanent clearing the stumps have to come out.
