Site grading and drainage correction
Grading is where a lot either drains or it does not. We cut to the elevations on your plan, build the fall away from the structure, and compact the pad so your foundation crew can set forms the day they arrive.
We also fix existing ground that was never graded right — standing water against a crawlspace, a driveway that washes out every storm, a yard that will not dry until July.

What's included
- Building pads cut and compacted to the engineer's elevations
- Positive drainage established away from foundations and crawlspaces
- Driveway subgrade, stone base and culvert installation
- Rough grade for construction and finish grade before seeding
- Swales, French drains and daylighted downspout lines

Grading questions
What is the difference between rough grading and finish grading?
Rough grading sets the elevations and drainage before construction — it is what the builder needs to break ground. Finish grading happens after the structure is up, smoothing and shaping the topsoil so the yard can be seeded or sodded.
Can grading fix water standing in my yard?
Usually, yes. Most standing water is a fall problem, not a soil problem. We shoot the elevations, find where the water stalls, and reshape the ground — sometimes with a swale or a drain line — so it leaves the property.
