Deck construction and pier footings
Decks fail from the ground up. We dig and pour the pier footings to code depth on bearing soil, then frame the structure on top of them — so the deck that looks level this year is still level in ten.
Because we already have the machines on site, we can regrade and drain the ground underneath at the same time. On sloped Lake Norman lots that is usually what the deck is solving in the first place.

Decks questions
Do I need a permit to build a deck in Iredell County?
Generally yes — decks over 30 inches above grade, or attached to the house, require a building permit and inspections. We handle the filing and the inspection scheduling.
